KOINZIDENZ

Spectrum Deutsches Technik Museum, Berlin, 2013

Thirty ordinary window panes at the Spectrum Deutsches Technik Museum are replaced with a specialized glass fitted with radioactivity detectors. As radioactive particles hit the detectors, the surface of the glass flutters alternating from transparent to opaque and back again.

Radioactivity is invisible to the natural eye but omnipresent in minute quantities in all environments. Koinzidenz is a permanent installation incorporated into the existing architecture of the Technical Museum of Berlin.

Koinzidenz was realised with the support of Stiftung Deutsches Technik Museum Berlin.
