Timecontainments

TURKEYPOINT TURKEYPOINT TURKEYPOINT

The work Timecontainments comprises of seven differently sized tubes, meticulously crafted from photographic paper. This shows analog negatives that have been exposed to radioactive samples from uranium mines around the globe, leaving behind striking white traces on the photographic material, making the invisible radiation visible. The sculptures are held upright by sleek, white steel caps, giving them the appearance of columns, storage vessels, or architectural plans. The formal aspect of the sculpture creates an immersive, archive-like experience, inviting viewers to contemplate the nuclear legacy and the need for responsible stewardship of the Earth and its inhabitants in the age of the Anthropocene.
