Spieluhr, Halle 2010
The installation Spieluhr transforms the site-specific background radiation into a continuously changing light and sound composition that particularly follows contingency. Synchronously each moment of radioactive decay is transformed into sound as well as a flash of light. Hence, a shadow play of immersive quality results on the surrounding walls. The usually not receptive is made experienceable. Due to the viewers presence he becomes an associate and co-author of the never ending composition of decay processes.
