Totem Habitat

Totem Habitat Totem Habitat

Totem Habitat is a constantly changing living sculpture, an artificial neolandscape inhabited by a colony of firebugs. Discourses such as the nuclear legacy and the responsible handling of the planet and other species in the age of the anthropocene are areas of focus in the work. The Firebugs are known for the visible mutations of their shields’ patterns when exposed to even low doses of radiation such as when close to nuclear power plants. This transforms them into indicators, turns them into readymades of the human nuclear impact on the planet.
